Living / Dying

When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling and rejoicing at your arrival.

When you die, it should be your goal that you are smiling and rejoicing and everyone around you is crying to see you leave.

Just a thought for the day.

Click the link above. I dare you. No – I double dog dare you. (Used to get that all the time when I was a kid) I doubt seriously whether anyone can read the article and then make it through the short video without being changed forever.

The Top of the World!

If you were to climb to the top of Mt. Everest, this would be the view. Click the link and scroll back and forth for a panorama.  Mt Everest………….

The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists has moved the minute hand of the Doomsday Clock two minutes closer to midnight. It is now 5 minutes to midnight. In a statement supporting the decision to move the hand of the Doomsday Clock, the BAS Board focused on two major sources of catastrophe: the perils of 27,000 nuclear weapons, 2000 of them ready to launch within minutes; and the destruction of human habitats from climate change.

In articles by 14 leading scientists and security experts writing in the January-February issue of theBulletin of the Atomic Scientists the potential for catastrophic damage from human-made technologies is explored further. Created in 1947, the Doomsday Clock has been adjusted only 17 times prior to today, most recently in February 2002 after the events of 9/11.

For those of you who have been in Ukraine, or might want to go, this website will be of interest. For the most part Soviet architecture and design is remembered for its heavy block buildings and functionally Spartan designs. Its overpowering desire for conformity left little room for individual creative freedom.

A notable exception to this is in the transportation sector.
While many of us are aware of the elaborate splendor of the Moscow underground, it’s easy to overlook the phenomenon of the common roadside bus stop as an example of soviet art and design letting loose and becoming a little weird and crazy.

I hope you enjoy these links. Let them be a little rest from your hectic day.

God Bless and have a good week!

Bible Map!

Vicki and I hope that everyone is having a great start to the new year. I stumbled on a website that I know has brought new meaning to some scriptures. I want to share it with you.

Have you ever been in the process of reading a section of passages from the Bible and wondered “Where was this taking place?” I know I have. I loved geopgraphy in school and still love it. CLICK HERE after reading this blog entry and go to Bible Map. Add it to your favorites (Bookmarks, if youre using Firefox)

It’s so easy. Here’s how it works. You are reading along and you wonder, “where is this place?”. Open up your internet browser ( I hope you’re using Firefox, rather than IE) and click on your favorites. Click on Bible Map.  Click on the pull down tab and select the verse you are reading.  Find the word in the verse that gives the location and it will be highlighted. Click on it and the map will spring into action!

Zoom in, zoom out, click your mouse and drag it all around and you will see the place in the Bible that you are wondering about!

Ahhhhhh, the 1st post of the new year. I have been mostly quiet during this Christmas Season, as many people are in the hustle and bustle of the holiday and family.

But, Vicki and I simply wish all of you:

A Happy New Year, or Feliz Ano Neuvos!

We are believing for big things this year. And we encourage you, our brothers and sisters to – Think Big, Pray Big, Believe Big and watch Father be Big!

God Bless each of you!
