Self

The following quote is NOT from the Bible:

I count him braver who overcomes his desires than him who conquers his enemies, for the hardest victory is over self.                Aristotle

It seems that even Aristotle knew that the hardest battle we fight is with ourselves. All through the Bible we see instances of people just like ourselves battling with self. Paul summed it up best in Romans.

Rom 7:22  For I delight in the Law of God according to the inward man;
Rom 7:23  but I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin being in my members.
Rom 7:24  O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
Rom 7:25  I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then with the mind I myself serve the Law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.

Thank God that today we have Jesus’s work on the cross and the Holy Spirit to indwell us!  Pray that today God will open a door for you to share the truth of the Gospel.

God Bless, Mike & Vicki
